The overall crime rate in Gastonia has seen a decrease over the last several years. The West District crime rate still remains higher than the other districts in the city however. We must work together as a community to combat this problem, the police can not do it alone. Be aware of what and where the problems are. Report anything suspicious or unusual to the police. The Gastonia Police Department has developed several great tools for tracking crime in your neighborhood and we encourage you to use them. Because of these new tools, we no longer track crimes or statistics. Please let us know if there is specific information that you are not able to locate and we will try to assist. We have provided some of the links below that should be helpful. You can help reduce crime if you stay involved. Join your local Community Watch and get to know your neighbors!
